If you’ve never seen Midnight in Paris, go watch it!
It’s a Woody Allen movie and if you’ve ever seen a Woody Allen movie then you know that they’re quirky and full of great one-liners. One of my favorites is this quote:
“Yeah, that’s what the present is. It’s a little unsatisfying because life’s a little unsatisfying.”
That’s what the protagonist, Gil says to a woman he met when he was transported back to the 1920’s, because he found a car that somehow travels back into time every night at midnight. Gil meets all his literary idols and realizes that everyone always longs for a different time and a different present. Check out the trailer. I really like the movie, because I often feel like I need to be transported to a different time and this movie gives a little taste of fantasy in a fantastically witty way.
I agree with Gil, I too think life can be a little unsatisfying. At times you can have everything you may have hoped for and you still feel unhappy. I think it stems from not understanding what you truly want. And, to get over that you have to do a little assessment of what you want in life. It’s hard, especially for me, because some of the things I want take a lot of hard work and dedication, which requires a whole level of effort that some days I am not prepared to give.
